This article will show you how Takumi is making it possible to eat their Ramen at your own home. Before we start with the article, I want to go over some disclosures. I know the guys at Takumi personally. They asked me to make a video about their concept for their Instagram and Facebook pages. However, this video on my channel and website shows you how Takumi copes with the pandemic (Due to the pandemic, a lot of restaurants had to close or went bankrupt, and in Europe, a lot of them have not been opened since the pandemic and take out & delivery was their only option since dining-in was not allowed).
If you can, please support your local restaurant by ordering from them directly.
Restaurant ramen at your home?
Takumi had to make a delivery and take-out concept to keep the restaurants active while dining in was not possible. Therefore Takumi is delivering the Soup and Ramen separately. They parboil the Ramen and veggies on order. They also cook the toppings on order and place them in a container. All you have to do at home is add a finishing touch by adding extra heat to your microwave.
Make sure the soup is not leaking out of its container.
To prevent the soup from spilling, they will wrap the container in a plastic bag; you have to remove the plastic bag before microwaving the container with the soup base. It takes 2 min to heat the soup at 700 watts, and please be careful with the soup since the container is hot.
Heating the parboiled Ramen
Since the Ramen and toppings are parboiled and cooked on order, they are still warm, but you have to microwave them to get the correct temperature. All you have to do is microwave the Ramen for 1 min at 700 watts.
Combining the soup and Ramen
Since each microwave is slightly different, you have to check if everything is appropriately heated. Once that is done, all you have to do is pour the soup into the ramen container.
Side dishes & Drinks
You can also order side dishes and drinks. Every side dish is made on order and can be eaten right away, or you can eat it while microwaving the Ramen. Since tapped Japanese beer is not possible, you can order the Kirin beer in a can.
Supporting your local restaurant
In this video, you could see how Takumi made it possible to stay in business by switching their concept and making it possible for their customers to eat their Ramen without the noodles becoming soggy.
Takumi also sells merch and, in collaboration with the famous cup noodle brand Nissin. They created their own Takumi branded cup noodle (Only available in Europe through select retailers or at the Takumi Restaurants). If you can, please support your local restaurant by ordering from them directly and preventing them from going bankrupt.
